Sustainability

Do we offer refills?

We currently offer a return and reuse scheme so if any Still bottles or jars are returned to us, by post or brought into the salon, you will receive 10% discount on your next purchase. The bottle or jar that you bring back will then be professionally cleaned before being refilled and reused by us. Any returns that we are unable to reuse ourselves we recycle for you.

What is our approach to sustainable packaging?

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do so we go to great lengths when sourcing each type of packaging to make each element as sustainable and responsibly sourced as possible. We make sure that all the suppliers we work with follow a strict code of manufacturing but we are also committed to improving this over the next few years.

What materials do we use in our packaging?

Where possible we always use glass for our bottles and jars as, from our research, seems to be the most sustainable material available to us. It is easily recyclable and reusable whilst being robust and easy to transport. All product boxes are made from recycled and recyclable card as much as possible and we have removed foiling from these to make them easier to recycle too. In some cases we have used plastic lids and pumps as these are the only widely available options for a small business but as we grow and are able to make bigger orders of packaging our aim is to reduce or eliminate these in favour of sustainable options.

How sustainable are our ingredients?

Every ingredient used is sourced through our supplier in the UK who works directly with factories and plantations around the world to find only the best natural ingredients and oils. We try to use Cosmos certified and Organic oils where possible for our formulations and never use ingredients that have been tested on animals.

How are your products shipped?

We ship online orders via either Royal Mail or DPD depending on the order size and contents. Royal Mail is committed to helping the environment and monitoring its impact on the environment and has a five year plan for improving its footprint. DPD are proudly environmentally responsible and every delivery is carbon neutral whilst they are committed to making every delivery vehicle electric over the next 20 years. As a brand we are working towards only working with DPD in the next 2 years so that our deliveries are 100% carbon neutral. Each order comes in an uncoated cardboard box with gummed paper tape and a thermally printed shipping label to make it a zero plastic option. Inside the box each product is wrapped in a paper alternative to traditional bubble wrap.

What are you doing to improve your carbon footprint and ethics?

Over the next year we have started to speak with a carbon off setting company to make the business as carbon neutral in every aspect as well as the B Corporation organisation to create a new standard for small brands like ours. By doing this we are hoping to inspire others to follow in our footsteps to create a responsible and transparent supply chain.
